The Los Angeles City Council and the Film Advisory Board honor Louis Gossett, Jr.

SENIORS CELEBRATING LIFE held their 10th annual luncheon at the Los Angeles Convention Center - The room was packed with enthusiastic guests.

When host, Councilwoman Jan Perry, who represents the Ninth District introduced honored celebrity guest Louis Gossett, Jr. the cheers were evident.

Academy Award Winner, philanthropist and founder of the Eracism Foundation - dedicated to eliminating racism from the minds of each child he meets - Louis Gossett, Jr. believes children are a good start to improve future generations from such destructive posturing. His book - "An Actor and a Gentlemen" - was so well received he ran out of books to sign.

Louis Gossett, Jr. received the Resolution of Achievement from the Los Angeles City Council and the Award of Excellence from the Film Advisory Board - for his outstanding contribution to the world of entertainment. Councilwoman Jan Perry received the Award of Excellence for her good deeds in humanitarian and environmental causes.

The Film Advisory Board had the opportunity to give the Award of Excellence to Mara New for her outstanding contribution to the world of entertainment, producer Agnes-Nicole Winter for her film "The Gold and the Beautiful" and Larry Covin for his extraordinary kindness and talent that bring joy to the world.
